Jasmín La Carís
Jasmín la Carís is a choreographer and leader in the Fresno dance community. She’s built her reputation in theaters and galleries like Warnor’s Theater, Arte Americas and The Grand Ballroom. Her work Literary Movements was the first dance production in the historic building since 1922.
In 2015, La Carís lead the project The Art of Dance, which celebrated three years of intense monthly performances during Art Hop. She broke attendance records at Broadway Studios and was inspired to create Pas De Peinture. Sold-out weeks before opening, Peinture explored the meaning of color. Fashion house ANGL invited Jasmín to choreograph their runway show soon after.
Jasmin later worked with Manuel Gutierrez on Kompaz at the Nokia Theater in Los Angeles. She was invited to stage the performance at The Global Gift Initiative’s event Padres Contra el Cáncer for actress Eva Longoria. Then again at Verizon’s Latino Entrepreneur of the Year at the Museum of Latin American Art in Los Angeles.
